Small grain recovery (oat) from hail damage

Submitted for archive use and future reference. Oat recovery from 5/12/00 hail storm on 6/1/00 is complete. Reflects research suggesting that before jointing small grains are least susceptible to hail damage.

  1. Fields should still be closely monitored for diseases. Anytime a crop goes through a stress like these hail storms, it is predisposed to other biotic stresses. Pay particular attention to the harvest sesaon as that is when most problems will culminate.
